At Our Core – Coaches Who Care

Your child learning the game of basketball is like taking music lessons. You would not put them in a concert if they don’t know how to play the instrument. Similarly, throwing your child into a high impact basketball league when they haven’t been taught any skills or know how to play is not beneficial. Research has shown that competition before a child is at the emotional maturity level to handle it is actually unhealthy for the child. This is why more than 75% of children that start competitive sports prior to the age of 9 drop out by the time they are 12 years old.
